How do I start tracking for an event?

To start tracking:

  1. Sign in to your TrackTour account
  2. Navigate to "My Events" and select your event
  3. Tap the "Start Tracking" button
  4. Grant location permissions when prompted
  5. Your location will now be shared publicly with event spectators

Remember to stop tracking when you finish or take a break!

Why is location tracking not working?

Common solutions:

  • Check that you've granted location permissions in your device settings
  • Ensure GPS is enabled on your device
  • Try restarting the app or browser
  • Check your internet connection
  • For background tracking on iOS, ensure "Always Allow" location permission is granted
How do I create an event?

Event creation is available for organizer accounts:

  1. Sign up for an organizer account
  2. Go to your dashboard and click "Create Event"
  3. Fill in event details (name, date, description)
  4. Optionally upload a route GPX file and add POIs
  5. Invite participants via email or share the event link
  6. Approve participant registrations
  7. Go live on event day!
Is my location data private?

Location data is shared publicly ONLY when you actively track for an event. When you're not tracking, no location data is collected. You have full control:

  • You choose when to start and stop tracking
  • You can withdraw from events at any time
  • You can request deletion of your historical data
  • Read our Privacy Policy for complete details
What devices are supported?

TrackTour works on:

  • iPhone (iOS 13 or later) via our iOS app
  • Android devices (Android 8 or later) via our Android app
  • Any modern web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge)

Background tracking requires our mobile apps for best performance.

How does background tracking work?

Background tracking allows your location to be updated even when your phone is locked or the app is in the background:

  • iOS: You must grant "Always Allow" location permission
  • Android: Grant "Allow all the time" location permission and disable battery optimization
  • Background tracking will impact battery life - ensure your device is charged
  • Location updates continue until you manually stop tracking
Can I participate in multiple events?

Yes! You can register for as many events as you like. However, you can only actively track one event at a time.

How do I delete my account?

To request account deletion, email us at tracktour-support@orbitals.net with the subject "Account Deletion Request". We will process your request within 30 days and confirm when complete.

What are the costs?

TrackTour offers both free and paid plans:

  • Participants: Always free to track and participate in events
  • Organizers: Free tier available with limits; paid plans for larger events

How do I report a problem or bug?
